Our experianced and highly-trained team of doctors are ready to assist you. You will find us located at the end of the Ötztal Valley at an altitude of 1,930 meters, in the midst of the snow-capped Austrian Alps. Each patient that comes into our office will receive clarification of his or her diagnosis as well as a detailed discussion and comprehensive care. We’re ready to assist you in all illnesses and injuries.
With modern diagnostic and treatment plan
Obergurgl-Hochgurgl is one of the most remote and highest regions in the Austrian Alps. With it‘s Tyrolean charm, unforgettable mountain scenery, small-town feel and guaranteed snow, it will forever leave a place in your heart. Of course with that said this region also has execptional on pist and off pist ski runs but also extreme mountain conditions, which can leave us sometimes with an unexpected injury or illness. That’s why we’re here for you! Our office is ready to handle those `extreme conditions.` With the start of the new ski season in Novemeber, our patience number rises significantly from 100 patients to 6,000 8,000 patients. It’s our top priority to make sure we give the best medical care possible. The neareset main hospital is 75km away and the University Hospitalis 100km away. By ambulance the journey takes 1 ½ - 3 hours, depending on the traffic situations. The transport helicopter will only fly in daylight and safe weather conditions ( the days are very short during the winter months).
As a doctor that grew up in the medical field environment as a third-generation certified mountain doctor here in Obergurgl, it’s my top priority to make sure my staff and higly-qualified trained doctors meet patient demands and provide the best care to each patient. Our office provides that urban hospital feel right here in Austrian Alps. Equipped with the latest technology, our facility offers modern diagnostic treatment and care. Even with our demand, our patients have a very small waiting time. It’s our goal to make sure each of our patients receive the proper care and all concerns and questions are answered; when they leave our facility they feel comfortable and have a complete understanding from their visit.
We don’t earn our money on patients operations. But if a patient comes to our office and surgical care is needed, we will organize it with a specialized surgeon who usually operates on the same day! Our first priority is always the care of each individual patient.
We see each and every patient as an individual.
The same injury may require different care and therapy for each person depending on their age, gender, fitness level and lifestyle. We are successful by our attentiveness to our patients. Ultimately, an active patient’s goal is to be restored to full athletic performance and ability through physiotherapeutic exercise and therapy. After the necessary immobilization of swelling, movement is the next step to healing. The patient’s goal should always include returning back to their everyday lifestyle stronger than before.
The positive feedback we receive from our local and returning winter patients proves that we’re meeting the goals of each individual. This is our motivation to continue to work hard and make sure the highest care is always given.

Sie haben mich mit Verdacht auf eine eine Netzhautablösung in die Augenklinik nach Innsbruck überwiesen und baten um eine Rückmeldung. Ich kann Ihnen mitteilen, dass Ihre Diagnose sehr präzise war. Ich hatte ein Loch in der Netzhaut welches in der Klinik mit dem Laser behandelt wurde. Bei der Nachuntersuchung in der letzten Woche hier in Deutschland wurde bestätigt, dass die Stelle gut vernarbt ist und meine Beeinträchtigung beim Sehen nahezu vollständig behoben ist. Deshalb möchte ich mich noch ganz herzlich bei Ihnen Bedanken, denn aufgrund Ihrer hervorragenden Diagnose konnte so schlimmerer Schaden an meinem Auge abgewendet werden. Ich wünsche Ihnen und Ihrem Team schöne und geruhsame Feiertage!"

Dort wurde ich sofort von Frau Dr. Brunner-Schlegel und ihrem Team sehr freundlich, kompetent und umfassend versorgt. Die OP-Anfrage in Hoch-Rum erfolgte umgehend und mit großer Sorgfalt, ebenso der Transport in die Klinik. Für die Nachuntersuchung wurde ein Termin ausgemacht und ich wurde ohne Wartezeit sehr freundlich betreut. Ganz herzlichen Dank dem ganzen Team für die liebevolle Betreuung!"
